C. Delbert Andrews

C. Delbert Andrews, 80, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester.  He was born on June 21, 1937, in Center Point, the son of Clarence and Bertha (Lovell) Andrews.  He was raised and educated in Benton County.

On June 7, 1957, Delbert was united in marriage to Janet Schwarting at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.  Three children were born to this union.  Delbert farmed and was a farm implement mechanic. 

Delbert enjoyed working with horses.  He liked antiques, especially antique farm equipment.  He was a member of the Plagman’s Barn Association.  Delbert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cutting wood.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Janet Andrews of Strawberry Point; his two children Steve Andrews of Elkader and Janine Andrews of Mount Pleasant; three grandchildren, Chris Andrews, Justin Andrews, and Bekah Pritchard; four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lorene Leaven (and friend, Robert) of Newhall, Eva (Loren) Kisling of Marion, Gerald (Sandy) Andrews of Eagle Grove, Marvin (Becky) Andrews of Vinton, Gale (Gloria) Andrews of Walker, and Jim (Jolinda) Andrews of Urbana; sisters-and brothers-in-law, Deb Andrews of Corning, Harriet (Dick) Mahoney of Urbana, Judy (Dick) Howe of Vinton, Jerry (Trudy) Schwarting of Vinton, and Tony Schwarting of Rowley; and many nieces and nephews.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Andrews; two brothers, Loren and Greg Andrews; and two sisters-in-law, Colleen Andrews Giebler and Theresa Schwarting.
