Daniel Joseph Kaiser

September 14, 1955 ~ June 5, 2017 (age 61) 61 Years Old

Daniel J. Kaiser, 61, of Masonville, Iowa, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.  Dan was born on September 14, 1955, in Manchester, the son of Robert and Adorine (Heims) Kaiser.  He attended tech school while attending West Delaware High School and then graduated from West Delaware in 1974.

 

On April 24, 1976, Dan was united in marriage to Laura Clemen at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Masonville.  Three children were born to this union.  Together they resided in Manchester for several years and then moved to Masonville.  Dan was self-employed as a mechanic, welder, and fabricator.  Laura passed away on August 2, 2011.  For the past several years, Dan has resided with his special friend, Donna Poehnelt. 

 

Dan was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Masonville. 

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Dan enjoyed camping, working in his shop, along with collecting tools and guns. 

 

Survivors include his three children, Kelcy (Andrew) Rasmussen of Independence, Joel (Jolene) Kaiser of Masonville, and Kesha (Darin) Billings of Coggon; four grandchildren, Jacob, Kailee, and Jordan Kaiser, and Bennett Billings; his mother, Adorine Kaiser of Manchester; his special friend, Donna Poehnelt of Masonville; and his four siblings, Kathy (Bruce) Hutchinson of Manchester, Twyla (Dana) Detrich of Manchester, Laura (Mark) Ries of Toddville, and Leanna (Richard) Fangmann of Manchester.

 

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kaiser; his wife, Laura (Clemen) Kaiser; and his brother, Jeff Kaiser.
