Louis Dale Klingman

Louis Dale Klingman, 89, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood, Iowa.  He was born on June 23, 1928, in Elgin, the son of William and Cora (Lantz) Klingman.  Dale was a graduate of Elgin High School.  Dale served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On October 27, 1951, Dale was united in marriage to Donna Mae Thein at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elkader.  Two children were born to this union.  Together they farmed outside of Elkader.  The couple moved to Manchester in 1982.  Donna passed away on February 11, 2016. 

Dale did lawn care and snow removal for several businesses and people in town.  He took great pride in helping anyone he could. Dale was a man of few words, but a very faithful and kind-hearted soul. 

Survivors include his two children, Kathy (Reed) Rhines of Manchester and Kent (John Reinheimer) Klingman of Cedar Rapids; and two grandchildren, Trever Rhines of Oelwein and Haley (Gunnar Grimm) Rhines of Coggon. 

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Donna Klingman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Edgewood Convalescent Home so that they may continue to provide their excellent care and compassion to families.
