Colleen Agnes (McIntyre) Heuchelin

Colleen Agnes Heuchelin, 82, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home following an extended illness.  She was born on April 12, 1936, in Hawkeye, the daughter of Morris and Mary (Fisher) McIntyre.  Colleen was raised and educated in Strawberry Point and graduated from Strawberry Point High School in 1954.  Following graduation, Colleen worked for the Strawberry Point Press Journal.

On July 3, 1960, Colleen was married to Wayne Heuchelin at the Strawberry Point Methodist Church.  They resided in Greeley where four children were born to this union.  Together they managed Coll-Way Farms.  In 1976 they moved to Edgewood. 

Colleen was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Edgewood.  Colleen enjoyed bowling, golfing, and gardening.  After retirement Colleen and Wayne spent their winters in Mercedes, Texas.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, Wayne; her four children, Scott (Heather Kearney) Heuchelin of Kelley, Julia (Kevin) McQuillen and Marc (Candice) Heuchelin both of Edgewood, and Paul (Kathy Jo Wenndt) Heuchelin of Delaware; eight grandchildren, Kyle Geisler, Keenan (Lindsay Fisher), Rose, Jimmy, Raymond Jr., Michael, Tiffany, and E.J.; four great-grandchildren; and her four siblings, Lois Bockenstedt, Robert McIntyre, Mary Jane (Arnold) Kray, and Agnes McIntyre; and a brother-in-law, Bruce ( JoAnn) Heuchelin.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Albert and Gertrude Heuchelin; one brother, Elmer Bruns; two brothers-in-law, Vernon Baumgartner and Leo Bockenstedt; a sister-in-law, Katherine McIntyre; and two nieces, Laura Heuchelin and Amy McIntyre.
