Dennis Junior "Denny" Chapman

Dennis Junior “Denny” Chapman, 63, of Manchester, Iowa, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at his home. He was born on May 16, 1954, in Manchester, the son of Clarence and Myrtle (Parsons) Chapman.

Denny married Shelly LeClere on May 18, 1996, and together they raised a blended family.  Denny spent his life working at Hawkeye Foundry, Scale Models, and for Kenny Hahn on the farm.  Denny retired in May of 2016.  His passions included watching westerns, collecting wolves and figurines for the yard, die cast cars, country music, being a joker, and at times Bingo with Shelly.  He had a love for animals and was out of this world for his dog, Pebbles.

Survivors include his wife, Shelly of Manchester; his children, Travis (Sara) Chapman of Manchester, Tami (Nathan) Chapman of Dyersville, Kasi (Doug) Chapman of Dundee, Kayli (Trent) Kelchen of Colorado, Luke Hartbeck of Manchester, Genny (Justin) Edwards of Florida, Timmy (Alejandra) Hartbeck of North Carolina, and Patrick Hartbeck of Cedar Falls; 19 grandchildren, Seth, Alexia, Jay, Rayden, Skybrin, Memphis, Lydia, Cameron, Gerald, Aidan, Brody, Carson, Korbyn, Madisyn, Greyson, Makayla, Emma, Matthew, and Harley; his siblings, Lester (Marilyn) Chapman, Lyle (Sandra) Chapman, Leverne (Delores) Chapman, Harold (Joanie) Chapman, and Leonard (Karen) Chapman. 

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, LaVerl and Glen; one sister, Alberta; two nephews, Allen and Mike; and a niece, Roxanne.
