Eva Elizabeth "Betty" (Sands) Hill

Eva Elizabeth “Betty” Hill, 81, Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.  She was born on September 6, 1937, in Monticello, the daughter of Edward and Eva (Tibbitts) Sands.  Betty was raised and educated in the Delhi area, graduating from the Delhi High School in 1955.

Betty was united in marriage to Donald Heims on June 7, 1956.  Four children were born to this union. Together they farmed near Greeley and Buck Creek, and then they purchased their farm near Delhi. Betty worked at Rockwell Collins and was a farm wife. The couple later divorced. In later years, Betty worked as a social worker.

On February 14, 1986, Betty was united in marriage to Jim Hill. They resided near Manchester and later divorced.

Betty enjoyed reading, listening to country music, and talking on her phone. She loved mowing and tending her yard. In earlier years, she loved dancing and singing.  Betty loved her children and grandchildren and cherished spending time with them.

Survivors include her three children, Gary Heims (friend, Robin Cram) and Bill (JoLynn) Heims all of Delhi, and Kay (Dennis) Routier of Manchester; seven grandchildren, Chase (Kelsey) Little of Independence, Adam Graybill of Waterloo, Brett Graybill of Waterloo, Amanda (Drew) Munger of Council Bluffs, Rachel (Trent) Lamb of Marion, Daniel Heims (friend, Jacey Thomas) of Delhi, and Jacob Heims of Delhi; two great-grandchildren, Korbin Little and Gracie Little; and one step-grandchild, Blayklee Miller.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Mark Little; and three brothers, Edward, John (Lela) and Vernon Sands.
