Evelyn Mae (Wilken) Foley

Evelyn Mae Foley, 91, of Edgewood, Iowa, died on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood. She was born on May 18, 1928, in Strawberry Point, the daughter of Arthur and Reta (Nace) Wilken. Evelyn was a 1945 graduate of Strawberry Point High School. She attended Kirkwood Community College for two years. Evelyn worked for 42 years for Dr. Hallberg in Oelwein.

In 1947 Evelyn was married to Leland Carpenter. One son, David, was born to this union. The couple later divorced. In 1984 Evelyn was married to Donald Foley. Don passed away in 2004. Evelyn resided in Strawberry Point for most of her life. She then lived at Lincolnwood Assisted Living in Edgewood prior to moving to the Edgewood Convalescent Home.

Survivors include two nieces, Kathy (Tim) Schultz of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and Lori (Terry) Wear of Fountain Valley, California; one nephew, Kevin (Barb) Meier of Indianola; several great-nieces and-nephews; and one granddaughter.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her son, David Carpenter; her husband, Donald Foley; and her sister and brother-in-law, Adeline and Lloyd Meier.
