Floyd T. Forsythe, 74, of Manchester, Iowa, formerly of Edgewood, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at his home in Manchester. He was born on July 19, 1944, on the home place on County Line Road between Clayton and Fayette Counties, the son of Harry and Edith (Antrim) Forsythe. Floyd attended Country School in Clayton County. He worked on the farm and at Hiltons and Pierce Logging in Guttenberg. He also worked at Backbone State Park mowing and trimming trees.
Floyd was united in marriage to Linda Bunting on June 19, 1971 at Floyd’s parent’s home. Two children were blessed to this union.
Floyd loved the outdoors. He also loved his old Case Tractor, his tobacco pipe, and his dogs, Buddy and Pepper, who were his favorites. Floyd enjoyed nature where he could fish and cut trees.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Linda Forsythe of Manchester; one son, John H. Forsythe of Manchester; one daughter, Barbara Forsythe of Manchester; one sister, Evelyn Bottelman of Edgewood; one brother, Eddie Forsythe of Garber; special friends, Kathie and Glen Sauerbry of Greeley; and many nieces and nephews.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lucy Brewer, Mildred Forsythe, and Mary Beatty; and three brothers, Willis, Emmett, and Lloyd Forsythe.
