Jacob Allan Taylor, 24, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at his home with his loving family by his side, after quietly enduring a two-year battle with an untreatable cancerous brain tumor. He was born on September 24, 1993, in Manchester, the son of Randy and Cheri (Hatch) Taylor. He was raised and educated in Manchester and graduated from West Delaware High School in 2012. Jacob attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids and then Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, Illinois, until the time of his illness.

Jacob was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church. While in high school, he enjoyed playing in the West Delaware High School Band and being involved in the speech program. In 2010, Jacob earned the highest scouting honor by becoming an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to classic rock, and going for walks. Jacob also played the piano, guitar, and alto saxophone. He was an avid history buff and was fond of animals, especially cats.

Survivors include his parents, Randy and Cheri Taylor of Manchester; one brother, Scott Taylor of Dubuque; his maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Hatch of Manchester; his paternal grandmother, Jean Taylor; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jacob was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Chet Hatch; and his paternal grandfather, Howard Taylor.
