Jolene S. Hakert, 43, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at her parent’s home in Manchester. She was born on February 25, 1975, in Manchester, the daughter of Marlen and Debra (Fry) Hakert.
Jolene received her education in the Starmont Schools, graduating with the class of 1993. She then attended Hamilton Business School in Cedar Rapids. Jolene worked for Integra Health for several years and ESP for a few more years, both in Cedar Rapids. She was then employed in receiving and returns at Lextron Animal Health in Manchester until recently.
Jolene loved going to her family’s softball games and spending time with family members, especially her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed playing cards and doing puzzles.
Jolene is survived by her parents, Marlen and Deb Hakert of Manchester; her maternal grandfather, Leo Fry of Greeley; a sister, Sandy (Steve Shontz) Hakert of Manchester; one brother, Lee (Julie) Hakert of Center Point; five nieces and nephews, Madison and Louis Shontz and Ben, Bailey, and Brayden Hakert; several aunts and uncles, Carl (Sandy) Hakert of Elkader, Karol Sauerbry of Manchester, Dee White of Earlville, Lonnie (Judy) Fry of Greeley, Brad (Sharon) Fry of Greeley, and Sue (Clyde) Palmer of Earlville; three great aunts, Marlene Fritz of Cedar Rapids, Goldie Hilsenbeck of Greeley, and Bernita Brady of Cedar Rapids; many cousins; and a special friend, Shane Lamson of Cedar Rapids.
Jolene was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Alice Fry; and paternal grandparents, George and Esther Hakert.
