Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Edmonds, 73, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester after a short illness. He was born on October 26, 1944, in Manchester, the son of Floyd and Dorothy (Peters) Edmonds.

Kenny graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1962. He then served honorably in the United States Army. On September 28, 1968, Kenny married Joyce Knipper at St. John Catholic Church in Delhi. Three children were born to this union. Together the couple resided most of their married life in Manchester.

Over the years, Kenny was employed at Iowa Manufacturing, Exide, Sonoco, and Runde Auto. He enjoyed camping, playing with his dogs, and going for rides. He especially cherished time with his family. Kenny was a member of the Manchester American Legion. He and Joyce were also members of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Edmonds of Manchester; three children, Brian (Brenda) Edmonds of Peosta, Scott (Stephanie) Edmonds of Manchester, and Kendra (Nick) Downs of Manchester; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Kara, Michael, Alex, Cam, Lincoln, and Griffin; three sisters, Shirley (Lou) Goranson of Greeley, Doris Lei of Manchester, and Norma George of Texas; four sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; his mother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law; his brother, Harold Edmonds; a sister, Alice Smith; and one nephew.
