Lyle Duane Hauschild, 85, of Manchester, Iowa, formerly of Greeley, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood, Iowa. He was born on March 26, 1933, in Tipton, the son of Elmer and Viola (Collar) Hauschild. Lyle attended rural school in the Tipton area before moving north of Masonville. He then graduated from Dundee High School.
Lyle served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. On September 21, 1975, Lyle was united in marriage to Wilma Decklar near Bailey’s Ford, Iowa. He worked as a farm laborer on various farms in eastern Iowa. Lyle worked on the Dick Bockenstedt farm south of Greeley until 2007. At that time Lyle moved to Manchester. He has resided at the Edgewood Convalescent Home since 2013.
Lyle enjoyed doing embroidery projects and completing word find puzzles.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Hauschild of Manchester; two brothers, Carl (Joyce) Hauschild and Eugene (Edna) Hauschild, both of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Lyle Hauschild, Jr., in infancy; one sister, Nellie Gordon; and a brother, Elmer Hauschild.
