Mary Ann “Wulf” Rave, 59, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on December 26, 2019, at her home, of ALS. She was born on December 13, 1960, in Manchester, the daughter of Lawrence and Berniece (Hilby) Wulfekuhle. Mary attended Lamont schools until 5th grade and then graduated from West Delaware High School in 1979. During Mary’s senior year, she was honored by being named Homecoming Queen.
On September 27, 1980, Mary was united in marriage to Jerry Rave at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. To this union three sons were born, Jeffrey, Erik, and Kyle “Chip”. Mary worked at Walmart for 36 years and made many good friends there. She was known for giving away dollars to kids at work.
Mary was known for her smile. She enjoyed gardening and reading. Most of all, Mary loved being with her lifelong friends. She loved cooking for her large family. Jerry and Mary own a classic car, a ’67 Nova SS, and enjoyed car shows, cruises, and their friendships. Mary also loved companionship with her dogs Ruby, Maddie, Dually, and KoKo.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Rave of Manchester; her three sons, Jeffrey Rave, Erik (Whitney) Rave, and Kyle “Chip” Rave all of Manchester; two grandchildren, Hunter and Lexi Rave; her sister, Cathy (Ken) Seelinger of Lyons, Colorado; her brother, Jon Wulfekuhle of Des Moines, Iowa; her mother-in-law, Norma Rave of Manchester; sisters-and-brothers-in-law, Pat Gotto, Kenny (Kris) Rave, Bill (Darla) Rave, Jim (Anne) Rave, John (Carol) Rave, Tom (Amy) Rave, Mary (Greg) Steffen, Barb (Dan) Hogan, and Mary Lou Wulfekuhle; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Ted and Catherine Hilby, William and Katherine Wulfekuhle; two brothers, Larry Wulfekuhle and Douglas Wulfekuhle; father-in-law, John Rave; a brother-in-law, Tony Gotto; and Jerry’s grandparents, Edwin and Armella Besler and John and Lena Rave.
