Merle Nueton Obituary

Merle Lee Nueton, 77, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. He was born on July 27, 1941, in Manchester, the son of Lawrence and Iva (Hawks) Nueton. Merle was raised and educated in Manchester and was a 1960 graduate of West Delaware High School.

Merle married Anita Hines in June 1964. Two sons, Shawn and Paul, were born to this union. Anita passed away in 1980.

In November 1987, Merle was married to Margaret “Maggie” (Drees) Hutchinson. Together they resided in Manchester. Over the years Merle drove semi trucks. Merle enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR racing.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret “Maggie” Nueton of Manchester; his two sons, Shawn (Lisa) Nueton of Clarence and Paul Nueton of Manchester; three step-children, Aaron (Stephanie) Hutchinson of Manchester, Ron (Majil Tayek) Hutchinson of Elkader, and Melissa (Mike) Hempstead of Oelwein; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Barb Smoot of Manchester; and two nieces and one nephew.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents.
