Paul Henry Way, 79, of Edgewood, Iowa, formerly of Colesburg, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. He was born on December 17, 1939, in Colesburg, the son of Paul Bennett and Erna Mildred (Evers) Way. Paul attended the Vinton School for the Blind through the eighth grade and also the Colesburg High School.
Over the years Paul resided with his parents and helped on their dairy farm. The family moved into town after retirement. Paul then lived at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home and recently has been residing at Lincolnwood Assisted Living in Edgewood.
Paul was a member of the Colesburg Fire Department for 39 years. He enjoyed antique tractors and in his earlier years enjoyed horseback riding. Paul was a member of the Plagman Barn’s Antique Association. He loved to travel and visit his friends and relatives.
Survivors include his cousins, Nedra (Ron) Ericson Huntress of Sycamore, Illinois, Wanda Olmsted of Galva, Illinois, Sandra (Ken) Carroll of Blacklick, Ohio, and Kent (Cheryl) Rolfe of Guttenberg, Iowa; his close friends, Ed and Connie Bolsinger, and Jeff Driscoll, who helped care for Paul over the years; and many other cousins and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Evers Way, in infancy; a cousin-in-law, Jon Olmsted; and several aunts and uncles.
