Rena Edith (Schultz) Everett

Rena E. Everett, 92, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on September 29, 1926, in Waterloo, the daughter of Bert and Vera (Way) Schultz. Rena graduated from Edgewood High School.

On October 21, 1947, Rena was united in marriage to Fred Everett at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. One child was born to this union.

Rena worked for nearly a decade at Ertl’s in Dyersville. She and Fred owned and operated Schultz Electric in Edgewood, which later became the Town and Country Store.

Following retirement, the couple enjoyed wintering in Texas. They loved to travel, ride motorcycles, and go boating. Rena was a long-time member of the Methodist church and the United Methodist women. She was also a member of the Edgewood American Legion Auxiliary and was the current sergeant-at-arms.

Survivors include her son, Steve (Joyce) Everett of Edgewood; four grandchildren, Mike (Janet) Oldfather, Chrystal (Dennis) Wegmann, Lisa Hoth, and Amber (Scott) Rowley; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Merle Woerdehoff of Edgewood; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Meader of Manchester.

Rena was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a sister, Norma Woerdehoff.
