Adrian "Abe" Paul Rupert

Adrian Paul “Abe” Rupert, 73, of Earlville, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He was born on October 11, 1952, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of William and Mary Jo (Morhman) Rupert. Abe was raised in the DeKalb area and was a graduate of Shabbona High School. He served in the United States Army and completed two tours in Vietnam.

Abe spent over 30 years with the love of his life, Loretta Smith. He worked as a “super” trucker for many years. He enjoyed motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidsons. Abe enjoyed working at the Tri State Raceway for 16 plus years.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Smith of Madison, Wisconsin; daughter, Jamaica Ralston; stepdaughter, Gish (Doug Kwater) Glotfelty; brothers, Russell (Lois) Rupert and Tommy Rupert; eight grandchildren, Dalton, Taylor, Colton, Harlee, Ava, Brooklyn, Tori, and Elise; eight great-grandchildren, Cayden, Keegan, Rowan, Julian, Ariabella, River, Knox, and Zaylinn; and many nieces and nephews.

Abe was preceded in death by his parents.
