Arlene Thelma (Mueller) Jones

Arlene Thelma Jones, 95, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa. She was born on June 4, 1927, near Gunder, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold and Tillie (Knutson) Mueller.  Arlene attended school in the Gunder area.

On May 4, 1948, Arlene was united in marriage to Keith Austin Jones at Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder. Four children were born to this union. The family farmed outside of Manchester. Keith passed away in 2004.

Arlene was a farm wife who enjoyed gardening and plants. She also enjoyed studying her family’s genealogy. Arlene and Keith enjoyed square dancing together for many years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Steve (Deniese) Jones of Manchester, Luann (Kirk) Conklin of Sagle, Idaho, and Sandra (Kevin) Glanz of Manchester; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Mac) Hampson, Megan (Ryan) Down, Caitlyn (Eric) Horn, Austin Jones, Hannah Jones, Michaela Conklin, Kelley (Adam) Ries, Jessie Glanz, and Jamie Glanz; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene (Ceil Gray) Mueller and Fred (Ione) Mueller; and many nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith; her daughter and son-in-law, Ardith and Steve Harring; and her siblings, Dorothy (Clarence) Hoffman, Lillian (Louie) Mohlman, Betty (Wayne) Miller, Donna (Ronnie) Dutter, Bill Mueller, and Marlin (Bonnie) Mueller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice.
