Barbara Jean (Sands) Mead

Barbara Jean Mead, 74, of Manchester, Iowa, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Friday, May 22, 2020, at her home. She was born on September 3, 1945, and was the daughter of Harry and Inez Sands. Barb was a graduate of Manchester High School.

On November 8, 1984, Barb was united in marriage to Robert Mead in Delhi. She loved her home and family. Barb and Bob travelled in their RV trailer throughout the southern states, spending most of their time in Florida and Arizona. Their summers were spent in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” Mead of Manchester; four children, Christina (Kelly) Bawek, Rob Timmerman, Troy (Rachael) Timmerman, and Cory (Angelia) Timmerman; three step children, Denise Mead, Craig Mead, and Dana (Eric) Smith; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Ted Sands.
