Betty Lou Williams, 93, of Edgewood, Iowa, departed this life and went to her heavenly home on Monday, September 13, 2021, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood. She was born on October 16, 1927 at Edgewood, the daughter of Marcel and Carrie (Krieg) Perrinjaquet. Betty was raised and educated in the Edgewood area, graduating from Edgewood High School. She then graduated from Cosmetology School in Cedar Rapids.
On April 30, 1948, Betty was united in marriage to Veryl Williams at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Four children were born to this union. Betty was an accomplished hairdresser owning her own shop, Betty’s Beauty Shop. She also helped with Vacation Bible School for 30 years, Awana Bible Study Club for 23 years, and Bible Study at the Edgewood Convalescent Home for 31 years.
Betty enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her four children, Al (Linda) Williams of Edgewood, Wendy (Russ) Holroyd of Manchester, Jill (Pete) Buschmann of Greeley and Jeff (Karm) Williams of Delhi; nine grandchildren, Susan Williams, Kerrie (Todd) Burvee, Heidi (Ryan) York, Dustin (Kristy) Holroyd, Gretchen (Dan) Chapman, Michael Buschmann, Eric (Jessy) Williams, Brett (Lindsey) Williams and Erin (Cam Luedtke) Williams; 18 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Shirley (Bill) Meisner and Virginia Waco; one sister-in-law, Mona Perrinjaquet; and several nephews and nieces.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Veryl; her siblings, George (Blanche) Perrinjaquet, Marie Thurn, Dorothy (James) Basten, Lucille (Keith) Callies, Eugene Perrinjaquet, and Edward Perrinjaquet; and one brother-in-law, Roland Waco.
Betty was a casual person so the family requests casual wear for the visitation.
Because of COVID-19, masks are optional at the funeral home and at the church.
