Beverly Ann Fannon, 86, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on September 12, 1934, in rural Dundee, the daughter of Herman and Gertrude (Tinky) Theel. Beverly graduated from Dundee High School in 1952 as the valedictorian. She worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids after graduation until her marriage. Beverly worked at Waalks Inn in Edgewood and was a wife, mother, referee, and homemaker.
On October 27, 1956, Beverly was united in marriage to John Fannon, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Edgewood. Six children were born to this union, but they raised half a dozen more.
Beverly enjoyed playing cards, visiting the casino, and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include her four children, Joe (Cheryl) Fannon of Edgewood, Jerry Fannon of North Liberty, Jim (Lori) Fannon of Edgewood, and Judy (Jose) Sanchez of Hiawatha; one son-in-law, David (Tammy) Preuss of Edgewood; 2 honorary children, John Trey and Mashell Farmer Wilkerson; 14 grandchildren, Trevor Fannon, Jordan and Ryan Fannon, Tyler, Zack, and Morgan Fannon, Kely Hemann and Riley Preuss, Eric Lexa, and Stephanie Miller, Kayla and Carlie Fannon, Taken Engelken and Greyson Sanchez; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Erma Wulfekuhle of Manchester; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Theel; and many nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 2005; her daughter, Joan Preuss in 2010; her son, John Patrick (JP) Fannon in 2019; six siblings, Bob (Corinne) Theel, Dorothy (Bill) Farmer, Niles Theel, Wanda (Dick) Hentges, June (Harold) Grissom, and Helen Theel; and a brother-in-law, Bill Wulfekuhle.
Because of COVID-19, masks are strongly recommended at the funeral home.
