Beverly Ann (Ungs) Klein

Beverly Ann (Ungs) Klein, 91, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester on Monday, December 18, 2023. Beverly was born on April 3, 1932, in Manchester, the daughter of Cletus and Evelyn (Smith) Ungs. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester and graduated from Manchester High School.

Beverly was united in marriage to Raymond Klein, Jr. on September 12, 1950, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Seven children were born to this union. Beverly was a stay-at-home mother until later in life when she worked at C & S women’s clothing store and then part time at Tyler's Jewelry.

Beverly was a lifetime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and in fact, the longest consecutive living member, and a charter member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas where she held many local and state offices on her journey to becoming Iowa State Regent. Beverly enjoyed playing golf, her friends, time spent with family, and her 15 winters in Arizona with Ray.

Beverly leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Kim (Bart) Haigh of Iowa City, Kari (Jerry) Clute of Homasassa, Florida, Robert Klein of Manchester, and Mark Klein of Manchester; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Colleen Klein; son-in-law, James Olson; siblings, Pat Westfall, Joan (Ron) Simmons, Bob (Jean) Ungs, and Mary (Bill) Havertape; sister-in-law, Nanci Klein; as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all.

Beverly will be reunited in Heaven with her husband, Raymond, who died in January 2013; her parents; three children, Rick, Mary Lee, and Kevin; mother- and father- in-law; and brothers-in-law John Westfall and Jerry Klein.
