Beverly Ann McQuillen, 89, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on May 16, 1933, at home near Greeley, the daughter of Asa “Dewey” and Norma (Rentschler) Harbaugh. Bev was raised and educated in the Greeley area and was a 1951 graduate of Dundee High School.
On September 22, 1952, Beverly was united in marriage to LeRoy McQuillen at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Four daughters were born to this union. In 1968 they purchased a farm west of Masonville which they farmed together until retiring in 1997. The couple then moved to Manchester. LeRoy passed away in 2009.
Bev was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society in Masonville. Once moving to Manchester, she loved singing with the St. Mary Choir. Bev enjoyed decorating cakes, gardening, and canning. She was famous for her delicious sweet pickles. Bev loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include her four daughters, Sherry (Larry) Millang of Cedar Falls, Margo (Mike) Zitelman of Arlington, Carla (Terry) Franck of Winthrop, and Brenda (Kevin) Streicher of Lamont; 12 grandchildren, Andrea (Colby Timmer) Millang, Betsy (Tyler) Gillis, Adam (Samantha) Millang, Matt (Tracy) Zitelman, Marcia (Chad) McLaud, Marie (Mark) Bockenstedt, Michele Zitelman, Tyler (Danielle) Franck, Colleen Franck, Trevor (Kinzlee) Franck, Kyle Streicher, and Blake Streicher; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; a sister-in-law, Joyce Harbaugh of Manchester; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Doris (Elmer) Manson of Manchester and John (Catherine) McQuillen of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
Bev was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; her parents; two brothers, Russell (Genevieve) Harbaugh and Eugene Harbaugh; two sisters, Gayle (John) Graybill and Eileen (Maynard) Wendt; a great-grandson, Tanner Franck; and sisters- and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane (Dean) Paris, Don (Geraldine) McQuillen, and Jerry (Sandy) McQuillen.
