Brenda Kay Fisher-Zelaya, 48, passed away on March 15th, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on September 10th, 1975, in Manchester, Iowa, to Charles and Sherrie Fisher. Brenda was the sister of Brett, Tracy, Ed, Steve, Curt, and Cindy. She married Jose Zelaya on December 15th, 1996, and was blessed with three children, Kazandra, Savannah, and Enoc. Brenda attended the First Baptist Church in Manchester, Iowa, and went to Maquoketa Valley High School, Class of '94.
Despite the brevity of her life, Brenda managed to embark on numerous adventures, leaving an indelible mark wherever she went. With her youth group, she went on a mission trip to Jamaica to help build on the interior of the island and do puppet skits for children. She traveled to many places for vacation, including Mexico and Hawaii. Additionally, she made multiple visits to El Salvador, her husband's home country, where she deeply admired the culture. Brenda resided in various states across the United States, including Iowa, Minnesota, California, and Arizona. In each state, she demonstrated remarkable tenacity by not only establishing a home but cultivating a community wherever she went.
She was an avid fashion enthusiast and dedicated many years to managing fashion retail stores. Her love for reading was evident in her extensive personal library of over 600 books, a passion she endeavored to instill in her three children. While she had many interests and passions, nothing surpassed her love for her children, whom she dedicated her life to ensuring that they felt confident and adored. Brenda found joy in conversing with everyone she encountered, wrapping each person in the warmth she radiated.
