Candice Lee Holdridge, 79, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester. She was born on November 9, 1946, the daughter of Raymond and Doris (Goltz) Short. Candice attended and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in Dubuque.
Candice was united in marriage to Robert Krause. Two children were born to this union. On December 14, 1993, Candice was united in marriage to Oscar Holdridge in Galena, Illinois. The couple made their home at Lake Delhi until moving to Manchester. Candice worked as a waitress, bartender, volunteered at Camp Courageous in Manchester and enjoyed socializing with her many friends.
Survivors include her two children, Doug (Barb) Krause of Waverly and Jennifer (Brad) Heath of Oceola; two step children, Joy Lynn Maples of Earlville and Leanne (Jon Shilha) Holdridge of Platteville, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Shaw of Arkansas; step-sisters, Carol Knockle of Peosta, Betty Schrobilgen of Florida; and step-brother, Rick Ohmann of Iowa City.
Candice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar Holdridge; her son, Steve Swanson; sister, Kris Short; and step-brother Terry Ohmann.
