Catherine "Cathy" Jean (Stroik) Zumbach

Catherine Jean “Cathy” Zumbach, 78, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa. She was born on November 1, 1947, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Bernard and June (Bundy) Stroik. Cathy was raised in Milwaukee and was a 1965 graduate of West Allis Central High School.

Cathy was married to Charles Hansen III on May 30, 1971, in Dubuque. Two sons, Charles IV and Clint, were born to this union. The couple later divorced. On July 9, 1988, Cathy was married to James “Jim” Zumbach in Manchester. Cathy worked in child care and at the Good Neighbor Home kitchen as a kitchen aide for many years.

Cathy enjoyed singing and was a member of the Sweet Adelines. Jim and Cathy met at a dance and loved dancing together. She also enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and was an avid reader. Cathy was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and attended many Eagles events with Jim.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Jim Zumbach of Manchester; two sons, Charles Hansen IV of Dakota, Minnesota and Clint (Rachel) Hansen of East Dubuque, Illinois; step daughter, Heather (Kevin) Ostrander of Delaware; step son Shane Rasmussen of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Gavin, Cole, and Ronan; a brother, Charles (Diane) Stroik of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and a niece and a nephew.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Holman; and brother, Bernard Stroik.
