Cheryl Rae (Hartman) Voelker, 80, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away with family by her side, on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. She was born on November 8, 1944, in Manchester, the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy (Davis) Hartman. Cheryl was a 1962 graduate of Manchester High School. She then attended cosmetology school in 1963.
On June 16, 1963, Cheryl was married to Lyle “Doug” Voelker. Three children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. Cheryl was a stay-at-home mom, raising their children, and helping on the farm. She also worked at Ertl’s in Dyersville and owned the River Road Hairport. Cheryl attended Kirkwood Community College and received her associate’s degree. She then worked at the information desk at Kirkwood and retired with many great friends.
Cheryl was a member of the Manchester Methodist Church. She loved hanging out with her Kirkwood friends. Cheryl enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her two sons, Craig (Nikki) Voelker of Cedar Falls and Corey (Jenne) Voelker of Manchester; nine grandchildren, Jill, Tara, Ali, Cole, Nate, Cade, Tristan, Wyatt, and Memphis; four great-grandchildren, Wesley, Eloise, Evelyn, and Link; her mother, Dorothy (Hartman) Hoffmann of Manchester; a brother, Richard (Joann) Hartman of Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, step father, Joe Hoffmann; and a sister, Judy Wilkins.
