David Wayne Alderson

David Wayne Alderson, 62, of Strawberry Point, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at his home in Strawberry Point. He was born on July 4, 1963 in Manchester, the son of Wayne “Red” Alderson and Charlotte Bailey. David was raised and educated in the Strawberry Point area. When he was young, David helped his father “Red” with his milk route for many years. After graduating from Starmont High School, he enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard where he served from 1982-1989.  After his service, he worked at several area factories. 

David married Michele Strawn in August 1990 and one daughter was born to this union, Alaurah Alderson. The couple later divorced. In 2010 his son Adian Alderson was born. His hobbies included painting, drawing, hunting, fishing, rock and roll music, and getting together with friends. He especially enjoyed his time spent with his family. 

Survivors include his two children, Alaurah (Austin Boyd) Alderson, of Manchester and Adian Alderson, of Strawberry Point; and his former wife, Michele Ross, of Arlington.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne “Red” Alderson and Charlotte Blunt; his brother, Michael Alderson; and half-brother, Russell Brown.
