David Gordon Tibbott

 David Gordon Tibbott, 70, of Greeley, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from complications of a stroke, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He was born on July 28, 1953, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the son of Alvin and Sarah (Hines) Tibbott.  David was raised and educated in Manchester and was a 1971 graduate of West Delaware High School.

In 1971, David was united in marriage to Ruth Reeves. Two sons were born to this union. The couple later divorced. David worked for the Delaware County Maintenance Department for over 30 years. He loved his pets. David enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds, especially hummingbirds. He loved sharing a cup of coffee with everyone who stopped by for a visit. David enjoyed driving through Fountain Springs Park and visiting with the campers.

Survivors include his two sons, Jerry (Wendy) Tibbott of Fairbank and Alex (Sara) Tibbott of Louisville, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Tessa, Christopher, and Jonathan; his mother, Sarah Tibbott of Manchester; two brothers, Robert (Laurie) Tibbott and Thomas (Suzy) Tibbott both of Manchester; special friend, Jean Cornwell of Greeley; and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his father, Alvin on October 2, 2022.
