Donna Dae Johanns, 83, of Strawberry Point, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Maple Crest Manor in Fayette, Iowa. She was born on April 22, 1943, in Alabama, the daughter of Howard and Clarice (Olson) Ward. Donna was raised and educated in Lanesboro, Minnesota, and was a graduate of Lanesboro High School.
Donna met the love of her life, Robert Johanns, at a dance in Rochester. On April 27, 1963, Donna married Bob at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Haven. Five children were born to this union. Donna and Bob raised their family in Strawberry Point.
Donna was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point and helped with countless funeral dinners. She was the chairman for the American Red Cross Blood Drive for many years. Donna spent countless hours tending to her flowers and yard, and loved decorating her home. The family’s fondest memories are the Christmas events and Sunday barbeques on their back patio with all of the kids and grandkids. Donna enjoyed attending all of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Most of all, Donna cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Jeff (Rose) Johanns of Braddyville, Iowa, Chris (Brenda) Johanns of Fayette, Vicki (Tim) Lindauer of Manchester, and Mike (Jenny) Johanns of Waunakee, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren, Dan (Shannon) Johanns, Ben Johanns, Sean (Anna) Johanns, Cain (fiancé, Miranda Sunderman) Johanns, Lori (Nate) Lee, C.J. Johanns, Isabel (Bryce) Brown, Declan Johanns, Jake Lindauer, Noah (Reese) Lindauer, Paighton (Lance Hospodarsky) Lindauer, Cooper Johanns, Parker Johanns, and Grace Johanns; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Terri (Dave) Dudek of Chatfield, Minnesota, and daughters, Jordyn and Kileigh; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Angeline Nolda, Lawrence (Van) Johanns, Therese Tinkey, Leo (Jan) Johanns, Mary (Harold Ritscher) Adams, David Johanns, Rita (Robert) Hanke, Paul (Vickie) Johanns, Jr., Joe (Michelle) Johanns, and Rose (Mike) Decklever; and many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 2023; daughter, Lori Ann; and brother, Larry Ward.
