Donna LaNelle (Dix) Robinson

Donna LaNelle Robinson, 93 of Masonville, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at The

Meadows in Manchester. She was born on May 1, 1932, in Siebert, Colorado, the daughter of Alpheus and Nettie (Damm) Dix. Donna was raised in the Coggon area of Sodtown. She was a 1949 graduate of Coggon High School and then attended Iowa State College.

On April 5, 1953, Donna was united in marriage to Daniel Robinson. Five children were born to this union. Together the couple farmed in the Silver Creek Community. They shared many wonderful years together until Dan’s passing in 1990.

Donna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family. After Dan’s death, Donna did home health care and volunteered for hospice. She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family gatherings, and her strong faith. Donna was especially known for having space for everyone around her kitchen table, which was rescued from the Silver Creek, for leisurely dinners featuring fine food and fellowship.

She is survived by her children: Pam (Dan) Hohl of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Harve (Barb) Robinson of

Masonville; Linda Rowland of Solon; Rhonda (Craig) Phelps of Marion; and Harlan (Millie Kehrli) Robinson of Manchester; her 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; one sister, Carol (Garry) Slife of Independence; brothers-in-law Doc Robinson of Central City, Steve (Judy) Robinson of Lincoln, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel; grandson, Michael Rowland; son-in-law, Tom Rowland; brother, Willard (Cleta) Dix; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Edward Robinson, Pat Robinson, C.J. (Anita) Robinson, Paul (Mary Lu) Robinson; a niece, Rosemary Robinson; and a nephew, Adam Robinson.

Memorials may be directed to Silver Creek Cemetery or Camp Courageous.
