Doris Marie (Halverson) Nuss

Doris Marie Nuss, 78, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was born on July 27, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Daisy Mae Halverson.  Doris was raised and educated in the Littleton, Iowa, area. 

On December 20, 1963, Doris was united in marriage to Bernard Nuss. Three children were born to this union. The family lived in Cedar Rapids, Masonville, and Manchester. Doris was a homemaker.

Doris was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manchester. She enjoyed watching soap operas, playing Bingo at Adult Daycare, and also liked entering radio contests. Doris loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her four children, Bill Tripp of Camanche, Diana Lynn Hutchinson of Manchester, Tracy Scott Nuss of South Dakota, and Dennis Lee Nuss of Oelwein; two stepchildren, Gary (Carol) Nuss of Oelwein and Linda Jennings of Manchester; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Bernard on March 27, 1989; and her sister, Dianna Lee Stoner.

Because of COVID-19 concerns, masks are required at the funeral home.
