Doris “Dori” Helen Corcoran, 83, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her home in Manchester. She was born on October 14, 1942 in Earlville, the daughter of Ed and Emma (Dingbaum) Bruggeman. Dori was raised and educated in the area and graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1961.
On October 24, 1964 ,Dori was united in marriage to James “Jim” Corcoran at St. John Catholic Church in Delhi. Four children were born to this union. Dori worked at F&M Bank, Dave’s Jack and Jill, and St. Mary School food service, all in Manchester. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and a faithful volunteer at Camp Courageous. Dori enjoyed her flower gardens and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Corcoran of Manchester; four children, Christine Poulin of Sandpoint, Idaho, Jeffery (Andrea) Corcoran of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Cynthia (Ahman) Douglass of Des Moines, and Jordan (Liz) Corcoran of West Des Moines; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sisters, RoseAnn Lyness of Manchester and Martha Huber of Delhi; and many nieces and nephews.
Dori was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Janette Toomer, Father Donald Bruggeman, Mel Bruggeman, Ken Bruggeman, and LouMae Funke; and brothers-in-law, Roger Huber, Don Lyness, Ed Funke and Bob Toomer.
The family would like to thank the Regional Medical Center in Manchester, the Good Neighbor Home, Home Health Care nurses, the Manchester First Responders and the local police department for their care of Dori.
