Dr. Kenneth Ray Burrows, 83, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester. He was born on November 22, 1942, in LaPorte City, the son of Burdell and Viola (McNamee) Burrows. Ken graduated from LaPorte City and started his college experience at the University of Northern Iowa. He later transferred to the University of Iowa to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
On February 6, 1971, Ken was united in marriage to Betty Ann Fogel in Cedar Rapids. Two children were born to this union. After their marriage Ken and Betty put down roots and began his dental practice in Manchester.
Ken had many interests and hobbies over the course of his life. Growing up playing music, he went on to learn how to play several instruments and played in many bands over the decades. Upon retirement, Ken and Betty wintered in Texas for 21 years where they enjoyed dancing, music, and activities with the many friends they met throughout their journey. Ken also volunteered his time at Plagman’s Barn and Camp Courageous.
He is survived by his two children, Travis (Laura) Burrows of Bloomington, Illinois and Jane (Rod) Glosser of Centerville; four grandchildren, Devon and Amory Glosser, and Hudson and Preston Burrows; his sister, Colleen (Roger) Foss of Waterloo; one nephew and four nieces.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 46 years, Betty Burrows.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Plagman Barn or Camp Courageous.
