Elaine Yvonne (Stone) Ross

Elaine Yvonne Ross, 79, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo.  She was born on October 11, 1945, in Manchester, the daughter of Burdette and Helen (Applebee) Stone. Elaine was raised and educated in the area and was graduate of Manchester High School.

On June 27, 1964, Elaine was united in marriage to Gary Ross in Manchester. Five children were born to this union. Elaine and Gary lived in Manchester. She worked at the Ertl factory in Dyersville, was a West Delaware school aide and did daycare until retiring.

Elaine enjoyed her shopping trips with Connie and Donna and playing bingo.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Ross of Manchester; her four children, Billy (Dawn) Ross of Manchester, Lisa Soto of Manchester, Tina (Shannon Greer) Strief of Buckeye, Arizona, and Todd Ross of Manchester; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Connie (Carl) Thurn of Edgewood and Tammy Stone of Manchester; and a brother, Burdette (Chin) Stone, Jr. of Manchester.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Robyn Stone; and two sisters, Leona (Les) Meyer and Carol (Ed) Rask.

Elaine was loved by many.
