Eula Jean Strief, 87, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on January 2, 1933, in Dubuque, the only daughter of Louis and Elsie (Walter) Strief.
In her early years, Eula Jean was raised in the Farley area and later lived on various farms near Manchester. She attended Manchester High School before moving into town with her parents.
After her father’s death, Eula Jean and her mother did domestic work at the Sleepy Hollow Motel. She entered the Good Neighbor Home in October 2013.
Survivors include her brother, Roger Strief of Marengo; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Charlie and Janet Gaffney and their families.
Eula Jean was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Melvin and Norman; and three sisters-in-law, Beverly, Mary, and Beatrice.
