Evelyn Mae Bottelman, 76, of Greeley, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 29, 1947, in Edgewood, the daughter of Harry and Edith (Antrim) Forsythe. Evelyn attended rural Clayton County schools.
On June 17, 1978, Evelyn was united in marriage to Albert Bottelman in Nashua, Iowa. The couple resided in Edgewood. In her younger years, she and Albert enjoyed fishing for red horse on the Turkey River. Albert passed away in 2004. Evelyn had many jobs including working for Spahn and Rose Lumber Company and Caseys. Evelyn loved gardening and anything to do with roses. She was a well-renowned pie maker. Evelyn loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include her six children, Deb (Robert) Kauffman of Russell, Sue (John) Suhr of Arlington, Tim (Jackie) Bemrose of Strawberry Point, Bev (Dave) Bolsinger of Greeley, Peggy Fry of Waukon, and Lynn (Ashley Cooke) Fry of Edgewood; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four stepsons, Alan (Marilyn) Bottelman, Alvin Bottelman, Bert Bottelman, and Mike (Tammy) Bottelman; three stepdaughters, Laura (Mark) Klingner, Lillie Stoltz, and Betsy McAllister; brother, Ed Forsythe of Garber; family friend, Melissa Fry; and many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; sisters, Mildred, Marion, and Lucille; brothers, Emmett, Willis, Lloyd, and Floyd; grandsons, Cody and Cory Bolsinger, Jeremy Suhr and Jamie Suhr; stepson, Matt Hartbeck; and stepson-in-law, Stan Stoltz.
