Faye Etta Grimm, 98, of Dundee, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born on October 25, 1927, on the Bowman family farm near Garber, the daughter of Royce and Mabel (Bowman) Murphy. Faye was raised and educated in the Dundee area and was a 1945 graduate of Dundee High School.
On August 24, 1946, Faye was united in marriage to Floyd Grimm. Five children were born to this union. Floyd and Faye owned the Corner Tap in Dundee for 52 years. They purchased the Tap on St. Patrick’s Day in 1960 and sold it in 2012. Floyd passed away on February 18, 1990.
Faye was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and bowling. Saturday mornings were reserved for pinochle at the Tap and after retirement coffee and pinochle at the Dundee Community Room. She loved having family visit. She was a huge country music fan. There was no rock-n-roll music on her jukebox and “None of this new crap – it’s not country”.
Survivors include her four children, Dixie Willman of Manchester, Alan (Jody Brady) Grimm of Edgewood, Kyle (Nancy) Grimm of Quasqueton, and Brian (Mary) Grimm of Lamont; ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; a son, Rusty Grimm; son-in-law, Al Joe Willman; and brothers, Russell Murphy and Howard Murphy.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Edgewood Convalescent Home for their wonderful and compassionate care, and to St. Luke’s ICU and Cardiac Care doctors and nurses and the Palliative Care Services Team for their kindness and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Forestville Cemetery or the City of Dundee/For Santa Claus.
