Gordon Keith, 98, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. He was born on October 24, 1922, the son of Benjamin and Olive (Dufoe) Keith on a farm in Union Township. Gordon graduated from Buck Creek High School in 1940. He received his teaching degree in 1942 from Lennox College. Gordon farmed all of his life on the family farm south of Delhi until his retirement.
On December 31, 1949, Gordon was united in marriage to Claudia Haynes at the Golden Congregational Church near Ryan. Four children were born to this union. Gordon served on several boards including the FHA Board, the county school board, the hospital board, and the Delhi City Council. He was also a member of the Burns Lodge of Monticello. Gordon loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his four children, Thomas Gordon Keith of Waverly, Kirk Stuart (Sally) Keith of Casper, Wyoming, Benjamin Lynn (Alyce) Keith of Delhi, and Carmen Rene Keith of Des Moines; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia in 2018; his parents; two grandsons, Thadeus Keith and Thomas Nathaniel Keith; one great-granddaughter and his two sisters.
