Harold "Buzz" Leslie Hutchinson

Harold Leslie “Buzz” Hutchinson, 81, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at his son’s home, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 1, 1943, in Manchester, the son of Harold and Sybil (Parrot) Hutchinson, Sr. Buzz was raised and educated in Manchester. Buzz worked as an auto mechanic.

In 1968, Buzz was united in marriage to Karen Krapfl in Delaware County, Iowa. Together they resided in Manchester, Lamont, and Strawberry Point.

Buzz was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church. He was a social butterfly and enjoyed fishing, camping, tractor pulls and the demolition derbies.  Buzz most enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his three children, Tamara Hutchinson of Dubuque, Leslie (Melissa) Hutchinson of Strawberry Point, and Nicole Simpson of Strawberry Point; five grandchildren, Abigail Simpson, Jacob Simpson, Michael Wright, Andrew (Nicole) Wright, and Ryan (Bryce) Wright; five siblings, Sharone Hepke, Charlie (JoAnn) Hutchinson, Trudee (Roy) Schroeder, Bruce Hutchinson, and Jeff (Kim) Hutchinson.

Buzz was a preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Karen in 2006; one grandson, Andrew Simpson; a brother, John Hutchinson; and a brother-in-law, Manfred Hepke.
