Harry Cephas Morley, 76, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Sunday evening, December 17, 2023, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point. He was born on November 27, 1947, in Long Beach, California, the son of Donald Walter Morley, Sr. and Priscilla (Kent) Morley. Harry was raised in the Colesburg area and was a 1967 graduate of Edgewood-Colesburg High School. He served honorably in the Navy Reserve for seven years and was on the Destroyer USS Dennis J. Buckley in Vietnam and San Diego.
On April 19, 1969, Harry was united in marriage to Patricia Harbaugh at the United Methodist Church in Strawberry Point. Three children were born to this union. Harry worked in Dubuque, drove trucks for Jerry Everrit and was custodian at Starmont Schools for 29 years. He also had a sanding and snow plowing business in the winter.
Harry enjoyed working on cars and trucks, mowing his large yard, working for crop farmers, and visiting with his friends at Nadings. He most enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patricia Morley of Strawberry Point; daughter, Kimberly (Steve) Luick of Fairbank; son, Douglas Morley of Strawberry Point; daughter, Tammy (fiancé Levi Zumbrunnen) Morley of Monticello; eight grandchildren, Alex Mahoney, Nascha Mahoney, Dillan Schmerbach, Tricia Luick, Abigail Schmerbach, Tina Luick, and Katie Schmerbach; three great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barb and Jim Hutchinson and Sandy and Gerald Dennie; special aunt, Ruth Easton; several nieces and nephews; and also his two Corgis, Carlie and Bella.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Morley, Jr., and Marvin Morley; sister, Beverly (Jerry) Holdgrafer; grandson, C.J. Mahoney; great granddaughter Keeley Schultz; and nephew, Tommy Thein.
