Jason James Mangold, 45, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020, at St Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. He was born on December 19, 1974, in Cedar Rapids, the son of James and Ruth (Sperfslage) Mangold. Jason was raised and educated in the Manchester area and attended West Delaware High School.
He was married to Charity Chamley in 1993 and was later divorced and to this union two children were born. Jason worked construction in the Omaha area and later in the Cedar Rapids area.
Jason’s loves were family, Harley’s, and horses, but not necessarily in that order. He was a hardworker, sensitive, a jokester and an outlaw. Jason lived life his way and enjoyed every minute.
Jason is survived by his daughter, Devann (Killian Blankman) Mangold of Omaha, Nebraska; his son, Jason “J.J.” (Melissa Pierce) Mangold of Omaha; his parents, James and Ruth Mangold of Coggon; a grandson, Marcus Blankman and one grandchild on the way, a sister, Andrea (Chris) Willey, of Manchester, a niece, Isabelle Willey and a nephew, Wyatt Willey of Manchester, his maternal grandmother, Ethel Sperfslage of Manchester and many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by this paternal grandparents, James and Vanita Mangold; and his maternal grandfather, Richard Sperfslage.
