JoAnn Darlene Fitzpatrick, 80, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 11, 1944, in Manchester, the daughter of Linus and Delores (Eike) Hoeger. JoAnn was raised and educated in the Delhi area, graduating in 1962 from Maquoketa Valley High School.  From June until September of 1962 JoAnn was in Omaha for Type Setting School.

On December 1, 1962, JoAnn was united in marriage to Richard Fitzpatrick at St. John Catholic Church in Delhi by Monsignor Duggan.  Six children were born into this union.  JoAnn worked at Rockwell for a couple of years until they began farming briefly near Petersburg with her aunt and uncle. They moved to the Fitzpatrick Home Farm near Greeley in 1964. Later in life JoAnn worked for Polo Custom Products for over 20 years as a sewing trainer.

JoAnn was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Greeley where she taught religious education, was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and served on the Parish Council until it closed. She then became a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Edgewood. Her true passion was being a farmwife and mother and sewing and quilting. JoAnn was also a former 4-H leader, taught many people how to sew, and was an excellent cook and baker. JoAnn sewed a lot of clothes for her children when they were young, doll clothes, purses and many quilts. Most of all JoAnn loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
