Johannah Elizabeth (Dolf) Champney

Johannah Elizabeth Champney, 91, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.  She was born on July 25, 1933, in Armstrong, the daughter of Henry and Phebe (Nettleton) Dolf. She was raised in and attended school in Armstrong.

On August 24, 1950, Johannah was united in marriage to Milton Champney in Mount Carmel, Illinois.  Three daughters were born to this union. In 1974 they moved to Illinois and in 1995 they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. They braved the cold and moved to Manchester in January 2014 to be near family. Johannah worked as a waitress, and as a receptionist and secretary for many years, including at a pharmacy. She retired from the Acco Company.

She enjoyed doing counted cross stitch, reading, playing Phase 10 and watching movies. Johannah loved the Hallmark channel.  Johannah enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include her three daughters, Deborah (Dan) Vigdal in Lakeville, Minnesota, Colleen Jo (Curt) Meyer in Manchester, and Cindy (Paul) Wang of Palatine, Illinois; six grandchildren, Angie (Allen Spilker )Meyer, Ben (Melissa) Vigdal, Heather (Calley) Kruger, Joshua (Kat) Vigdal, Megan (Kyle) Sumiejski , and Matt  Wang; and four great grandchildren, Riddick and Maddox Kruger, and Ava and Emma Sumiejski; brother Dwight (Freda) Dolf of Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews.

Johannah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Milton in 2016; and her stillborn sister, Zelda.
