Johnnie Turner Obituary

Johnnie Dean Turner, 67, of Volga, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at his home in Volga, Iowa. He was born on February 17, 1954, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, the son of Kenneth Turner and Dorothy (Duncan) Turner Denny. As a young child he and his family moved to Council Bluffs. He received his education at Thomas Jefferson High School. After school he worked various jobs in Council Bluffs doing auto detailing and working as a mechanic until his health no longer permitted him to work.

On August 5, 1998 Johnnie was united in marriage to Kathy Krebbs. Eventually in 2011, Johnnie and Kathy settled in Volga.

Johnnie enjoyed fishing and tinkering with computers.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Turner of Oelwein; one son, Patrick Turner; three grandchildren, Jasmine (Taylor) Buhr, Haley Fields, and Sierra Weilage; several great-grandchildren; three step-children; and four step-grandchildren.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Tami Turner and Christopher Turner; and one brother, Kenneth Turner.
