Jordan Gerald Cabalka

Jordan Gerald Cabalka, 31, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.  He was born on April 20, 1990, in Manchester, the son of David and Linda (Hemesath) Cabalka. Jordan was raised in Manchester and was a 2008 graduate of West Delaware High School. After graduation Jordan attended WyoTech in Wyoming and graduated in 2009.

On November 12, 2016, Jordan was united in marriage to Katie Meese at St. Mark Catholic Church in Edgewood. Jordan was an automotive technician and worked for Georgen Auto in Manchester. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, and the Edgewood Fire Department. Jordan enjoyed golfing, deer hunting, racing with his nephews, Myles and Ryker, morning walks with their dog Oreo, and going to breweries with Katie. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, Katie Cabalka of Edgewood; his parents, Dave and Linda Cabalka of Manchester; two brothers, Greg (April) Cabalka of Van Meter and Jay (Shellie) Cabalka of Urbana; parents-in-law, Tim and Julie Meese of Edgewood; his paternal grandparents, Francis and Ruth Cabalka of Dubuque; brothers-in-law, Andy (Kristy)Meese of Edgewood and Tyler (fiancé Hanna Koloc) Meese of Edgewood; and nieces and nephews, Myles, Ryker and Adleigh Meese, Mia and Nova Cabalka, and three on the way.

Jordan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Carol Hemesath and an uncle, William “Bill” Hemesath.

The family prefers memorials to flowers. A scholarship will be established in Jordan’s name.
