Joshua James Meister

Joshua James Meister, 41, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at his home. He was born on January 28, 1983, in Manchester, the son of Angela (Brooks) Cornwell and Jeffery Meister. Josh was raised and educated in Manchester and attended West Delaware High School.

After his schooling, Josh worked as a carpenter, mason, and carpet layer. Josh enjoyed working on vehicles in his spare time as well as helping his mom with home improvement projects over the years. He liked listening to music, watching movies, and playing video games. Most of all, Josh enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his mother, Angie Cornwell of Manchester; one daughter, Danica Heinrichs of Manchester; sister, Kyleigh (Ray) Brooks-Meader of Manchester; five nieces and nephews, Isabella Davis, Alexis Davis, Jamisyn Brooks, Deklyn Brooks, and Madison Frost; maternal grandfather, LeRoy Brooks of Manchester; aunts and uncles, Teri Brooks-Frost of Manchester, Todd (Sue) Brooks of Manchester, Sharon Moore of Cascade, Kael Brooks of Manchester, LeRoy “Jamie” (Debra) Brooks of Central City, and Joan Meister of Manchester; two great-aunts, JoAnn (Daryl) Wilson of Manchester and Merrie Schroeder of Waterloo; and many cousins.

Josh was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Catherine Brooks; father, Jeffery Meister; maternal great-grandmother, Hazel Brooks; paternal grandparents, James and Jean Ann Meister; nephew, Isaac James Brooks; and cousin, Craig Wilson.
