Keith Duane Thompson

Keith Duane Thompson, 95, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the Good Neighbor Home. He was born on October 4, 1927, in Clarinda, the son of Fred and Thelma (Parker) Thompson.  Keith was raised and educated in Iowa and was a graduate of Braddyville High School.

On January 31, 1948, Keith was united in marriage to Earlene Nickerson in Shambaugh, Iowa.  Two daughters were born to this union. The couple resided in Council Bluffs, Red Oak, Cherokee, and New Hampton, before moving to Manchester in 1955. Together they opened and owned Thompson Shoe Store and Tots to Teens for many years. Keith retired in 1995.

Keith was a member of the Community Congregational Church. He enjoyed fishing, especially in Canada, playing tennis, and watching West Delaware Wrestling. He was a member of the West Delaware Booster Club.

Survivors include his daughter, Marla Hool of Janesville; his adopted family, Ny and Ronn Hom of Manchester; five grandchildren, Christin Pasker of Manchester, Kamra (Craig) Schaul of Cedar Falls, Kyla Klosterman of Manchester, Saran Seang of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Nang (Sophia) Seang of Florida; nine great-grandchildren, Landon, Caiden, and Nolan Schaul, Layne and Kooper Klosterman, EJ Pasker, Jessica, Ally, and Riley Seang.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Earlene Thompson in 2010; his daughter, Sherri Pasker in 2015; son-in-law, Ted Hool in 2022; his brother, Gary Thompson; and sister, Norma Jean Pittsenbarger.
