Leanna Stewart

Leanna Ludovissy Stewart, 91, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. She was born September 2, 1928, in Clayton County, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Viola (Smith) Ludovissy. Leanna was raised and educated in the area, graduating from Edgewood High School.

On October 10, 1945, Leanna was united in marriage to James LeRoy Stewart.  Three daughters were born to this union.  The couple resided in Edgewood and later moved to Strawberry Point where they spent most of their life.  Leanna retired from Exide Battery. Leanna and James traveled out west during the summers until James death in 1992.

Leanna enjoyed spending time with her family and doing crafts. She also spent many winters in Mission, Texas.

Surviving Leanna are her three daughters, Linda (Roger) Pfab of Cascade, Marilyn (Vic) Learn of Dubuque, and Diane Irish of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Doris Ludovissy of Edgewood, Wanda Amsden of Elkader, and Marilyn Stewart of Elkader; and many nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.

Leanna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; a brother, Mervin Ludovissy; one sister, Berdina Putzier; a son-in-law, Dennis Irish; and three brothers-in-law, Karl Putzier, Lloyd Amsden, and Gary Stewart.
