Lillian Mildred Burns, 104, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on September 29, 1921, in Dundee the daughter of Oscar Johnson and Dora Lucas. Lillian graduated from Dundee High School.
On November 24, 1945, she was united in marriage to Marwan Burns at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Six children were born to this union. Together they farmed in Delaware County and in 1954 purchased a farm northwest of Manchester. They moved to the Meadows in 2012.
Survivors include three children, Randy Burns of Prescott, Arizona, Kathy (Bill) Zanner of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Janice Burns of Des Moines; daughter in-law, Theresa Burns of Manchester; three grandchildren, Levon Smith, Nathaniel Burns, and Alyson Benell; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Owen Benell.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marwan; sons, Steven Burns and Brian Burns; daughter, Doreen Burns; and a brother and sister.
